M939 is a 5-ton heavy American military truck, which was a modernization of a series of 5-ton M-809 trucks with a 6x6 wheel formula. These are general -purpose military vehicles, primarily intended for tactical use on off -road, with a maximum speed of 65 miles per hour (104 km/h).
The machine was created by AM General and still remains the main one in the military park due to its versatility and reliability. The main improvements of the M939 cars compared to the M809 series machines are as follows: more than 30,000 trucks of the M939 series were delivered to the US Armed Forces.
Of the many models of the M-939 series, 5-ton trucks with a wheel formula 6x6 were the most common in operation: capable of carrying heavy cargoes with all types of terrain and in all weather conditions, M939 proved its efficiency in different operational conditions. Despite their age, these trucks continue to serve in the US Armed Forces, as well as supplied to a number of other countries, including Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Egypt, Indonesia and others.
