Hundreds of small power plants need to be built: Ukrenergo's head for protection against attacks
"The concentration of generation on several sites is something that leads to serious problems with massive enemy shelling. We, as an operator of the power system, understand that the only sustainable way to protect the power system from such a massive terror is the decentralization of generating capacity," Kudrytsky said. He believes that it is necessary to build hundreds of small power plants with greater resistance to massive attacks because of their dispersal.
In this case, these attacks will not lead to such difficult as now, the consequences for the power system. "Today, solar and wind power plants are already being built in Ukraine - without a" green "tariff, on the basis of investors' forecasts for investment payback. In addition, we also need technologies for balancing," - said Ukrenergo.
The company is convinced that the Ukrainian power system requires a new thermal generation - but not coal, but that will work at the waste of the woodworking industry, agricultural sector, etc. Separately, gas pickers (small high -power plants operating on gas) and electricity accumulation systems are needed. Such generation should be geographically dispersed throughout the state.
