The US has imposed new sanctions against Russia: who was on the list

The new sanction package touched, in particular, Aimani Kadyrov, the mother of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, as well as the International Children's Center "Artek" in the Crimea occupied by Russia. The United States has expanded sanctions against Russia. Thus, on August 24, it became known that the US side introduced a restriction against 11 individuals and two legal entities from the Russian Federation. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Finance of the country.

The new restrictions were included in the persons and companies involved in the abduction of Ukrainian children, among them were the Artek Children's Center in the occupied Crimea. Also under sanctions was the mother of Ramzana Kadyrov Aimani and the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation. Also, the lists of natural persons are subject to the following restrictions: moreover, restrictions apply to transactions with property and share in the property of the companies, if they are owned by sub -persons.

We will remind, US President Joe Biden earlier on August 24 stated that the US and other countries are developing a plan that would allow Russia to be held accountable for the war. "And today we are announcing new sanctions to hold the perpetrators responsible for these forced movements and deportations and demand the return of Ukrainian children to their families," the White House Head said.

In addition, in early August, the United States imposed sanctions against the Russian Academy of Sciences and its structures. Against this institution, the US government has already imposed restrictions. Now the sanction mechanisms have spread to the Yu. Osipyan solid physics Institute and the O. Prokhorov General Physics Institute.
