He stressed the volume that it is very important to transfer funds for the restoration of Ukraine. The politician believes that it is Russia who must pay for the losses and destruction that caused her troops. "Belgium will look for mechanisms that could make it reality," Alexander de Croo said. The head of the Belgian government also noted that last March Belgium arrested 197 million euros of income from Russian assets.

The state intends to use these funds to help Ukrainian refugees and support Ukraine. "I am sure that we have to go further - not only freeze interest from Russian assets, but also confiscate them," the politician explained. The politician added that Belgium uses profit from interest rates from frozen in the country 58 billion euros of Russian assets to assist Ukraine and is looking for an opportunity to increase the use of these funds even more.
