RF Military Fleet is outdated: Putin's expert to produce more ships

Back in 2015, numerous programs were announced in the Russian Federation, from the atomic "Lider" to UDC "Priboy", but they were postponed along the Admiralty line. On December 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin was present at the adoption ceremony for three new ships for Russian Navy. According to the expert, the military fleet of the Russian Federation mostly consists of Soviet ships, which, despite its former power, are steadily obsolete, both in terms of technical and purely physical, as evidenced, for example, by the Avric carrier "Admiral Kuznetsov".

Wolf recalled that the only Avrane Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, as well as two atomic cruisers "Kirov", two ordinary cruisers "Glory" and ten destroyers of the classes "Udaloi" and "Sovremenny", which are part of the Navy combat building Lada between 1985 and 1998. These ships require considerable effort to maintain and modernize, but often the timing of work, as well as returning, delayed.

"It is typical that the work on the modernization of these large Navy compounds is extended for several years, as in the case of the atomic cruiser" Admiral Tynomov ", the modernization of which is started in 2015, with the receipt of the ship in order is not expected until 2024," - said Wolf. As for the production capacity of Russian ships, they face, according to the expert, with considerable difficulties.

Despite all the efforts of the Russian authorities and, in particular, Putin, who made the modernization of the naval fleet of Russia as a priority task of the country's defense capability, most programs for the construction of ships were postponed. For example, the construction of the Admiral Gorshkov frigate - the first unit of the project 22350, began in 2006, but the ship was joined by the Northern Fleet only in July 2018.

Also in 2015, numerous programs were announced, from the atomic destroyer "Lider" to the universal landing ship "Priboy", including heavy frigates of the project 2230m. After a while, Russian propagandists said that new ships would be equipped with the latest military technologies. Allegedly, ships will be equipped with hypersonic missiles, lasers and electromagnetic guns.

However, since then, most of these modernization programs have been postponed or simply stopped considering the Admiralty line. And efforts were more aimed at creating lighter naval units and submarines. It should be reminded that according to analysts of the Institute of War, the Russian Federation is preparing for the future conventional war with NATO and expanding its naval potential far beyond Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
