The head of operational management of the General Staff of Defense forces Estonia Colonel Tarmo Kundla said on August 11 that the line of combat clash in Ukraine has not shifted significantly during the week, and the war on exhaustion continues, reports ERR.

According to Tarmo Kundla, there is now a situation where neither Russian forces nor the Armed Forces have an advantage over the enemy, during the last week Russian troops carried out on average 30 to 40 attacks a day. In this case, the Armed Forces continue to keep the initiative and strike different strength and character in many areas of the front. The colonel noted that the defense lines are located near settlements and infrastructure facilities, the staff is now located in the interior.

Logistics bases are created near transport and agricultural infrastructure, hotels, schools and private homes are used to accommodate, he added. "For the most part, fighting occurs in the same areas as during the Second World War," Kundla said. The colonel noted that although the initiative is in the hands of Ukraine, the war for exhaustion continues. "What is happening in the northeast of Ukraine can determine success or failure in the south, and vice versa," he added.
