Senior Director of the European Council of the National Security Council, Michael Carpenter, said that thanks to a new decision, Russia will lose the opportunity to accumulate troops on its side of the border near Kharkiv and Sumy regions. At the end of May, the United States granted Ukraine's permission to strike the Russian Federation from the territory of Kharkiv region. From now on, the Armed Forces can also attack Russian goals from Sumy region.

This was stated during a telephone briefing by the Senior Director of the White House National Security Council Michael Karpenter, Ukrinform writes. According to him, it will have an impact, in particular, on the accumulation of Russian troops under the border with Kharkiv and Sumy region in this way in the White House officially confirmed the permission to use their weapons in Russia near Russia near both these areas.

"We have clearly stated that this right to use American weapons allows Ukrainians to fire in response to Russian positions directly across the border in Kharkiv region, as well as Sumy region," Michael Carpenter said.
