Increasing their own weapons production and internal economic potential - the President named the priorities of the new government's work

The priorities of the new Government of Ukraine are to increase their own production of weapons and internal economic potential, more specifically filling the policy of heroes, ordering social policy and a new level of defense cooperation with key partners. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a speech at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.

The Head of State thanked the officials headed by Denis Shmigal for the dignity of the journey and outlined the main expectations of the new government. The President noted that the defense management and weapons are now being transformed in such a way as to significantly increase the share of domestic weapons available for Ukrainian defenders and defenders in half a year. “About 40 % of all weapons are made in the hands of our soldiers. It should be at least 50 %in half a year.

The updated government of Ukraine should audit all agreements, agreements, memoranda with partners in the field of defense, defense production, all stability programs, to fulfill the agreements 100 % in the interests of Ukraine, ”Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed. According to the Head of State, new agreements with the United States are also planned, which will strengthen Ukraine's position, and this requires changes in diplomatic work with the United States.

“We are already preparing with government officials, together with our diplomats, together with the NSDC a new level of defense cooperation with key partners. Ukraine will be among top global safety donors and weapons, ”the President said. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine increases internal economic potential to guarantee Ukrainian soldiers.

For this purpose it is necessary to carry out deregulation, to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and institutions whose functions are duplicated, to attract the potential of partners and to introduce stronger approaches to the punishment of those who encroach on Ukrainian statehood and who steals Ukrainian potential.

Also, according to the President, the government should continue the digitalization of processes and state services, more specifically to fill programs for supporting veterans and families of the military, to organize and develop a more realistic approach to social policy in Ukraine. “I expect that the government steps will be presented as soon as possible and will be implemented in daily mode. Every day it should bring the result to Ukraine, ”the Head of State emphasized.

Today, the Verkhovna Rada supported the appointment of Yulia Sviridenko with a new prime minister of Ukraine with 262 votes. “Our task is to give Ukrainians all possible tools to protect Ukraine's independence and life. We will complete this task. I thank the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky for trust, ”she said.
