This was reported by sources of the agency "RBC-Ukraine". According to the interlocutor, the exchange of prisoners in "1000 per 1000" format will last three days. Participants of negotiations of Ukraine and the Russian Federation agreed on this at a meeting in Istanbul.

It was the main and only substantive result of the meeting of the delegations of the two countries. On May 23, US President Donald Trump reported on the completion of a major exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, but the agency's sources have denied the statement. According to their data, the exchange process is ongoing. The British newspaper Financial Times, referring to anonymous Ukrainian officials, writes about the exchange of three groups for three days.

Among the exchanged persons are mostly military personnel and some civilians. Familiar with the details of the exchange, the FT source said that Russia did not want to release any of its high -ranking prisoners.
