Mobile Communication and Internet during the War: How in Ukraine improves coverage (video)

Despite the infrastructure, the Ministry is planning to provide mobile communication and broadband Internet access to 98% of Ukrainians by 2030. In Ukraine, a record number of base stations have been set up in the last half of the year to improve the quality of mobile communication and the Internet. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Telecom infrastructure is constantly being fired by Russia. Therefore, the ministry and key stakeholders of the sphere are working to improve and restore communication, in particular in the territories that suffer from Russian blows. According to the current strategy for the development of electronic communications, by 2030, 98% of Ukrainian citizens must have mobile communication and broadband access to the Internet.

This figure is currently 91%. Mobile operators are constantly increasing the coating, on average, 240 base stations per month. Over the past six months, more than 2 295 have been installed in Ukraine in more than 300 settlements, which is a record indicator. The Mincrifra also showed the installation of one of these stations in the Kiev region. It is reported that it will help to provide 2,400 Ukrainians with quality communication and the Internet within a radius of more than 10 kilometers.

"One of the main tasks of the Ministry of Defense is to provide the population with a stable connection even during the war," the department said. Recall that most modern smartphones are equipped with a mobile access feature that allows you to distribute your mobile Internet when there is no light or access to your home Internet.
