Infrastructure of Ukraine: in the fall of the Russian Federation can use a new tactic - ISW

According to analysts, the occupiers will probably use less rockets and more UAVs for new strikes on critical infrastructure. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation may be preparing to restore massive attacks on the critical infrastructure of Ukraine, but this time the invaders can use other tactics. This is stated in the report of the Institute of War Study (ISW) of August 28.

The report states that according to the representative of GUR Ministry of Defense Vadim Skibitsky, Russian invaders are exploring in Ukraine's infrastructure and can start a new series of massive blows using missiles and drones in late September or in October. According to Ukrainian officials, Russia has not supplemented its missile reserves to the level of attacking such a scale on Ukrainian energy facilities as last winter.

In this regard, officials believe that this time the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation can use a new tactic that involves the use of fewer missiles and more drones. "Earlier, the ISW estimated that the Russian command may assume that a large number of shock drones will allow Russian forces to crush Ukrainian air defense, although Shahd drones remain a Russian high -precision weapons system, the most vulnerable for Ukrainian air defense," the authors of the report summed up.

We will remind, on the night of August 25 the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck a rocket strike in the Odessa region, applying a new tactic. According to Natalia Humeniuk, the speaker of the South Operational Command, the enemy is trying to find new rocket flight directions to bypass the air defense systems.

On August 28, the Air Force representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the use of a small number of missiles during the last few beats, compared to massive shelling. Yuri Ignat also noted on August 28 that it is difficult to knock down missiles X-101/X-555 because of their ability to fly for a long time, changing the course and maneuvering. According to him, X-101 missiles are considered a difficult target for air defense, but Ukrainian defenders manage to destroy them.
