I have taken over the experience of the Armed Forces: the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began to use planes Yak-52 to fight UAVs (video)
Experts say that successful implementation of the decision requires clear coordination of actions and information about goals in the airspace in real time. At the same time, Russian bloggers themselves recognize that in the example of events with shelling of air defense systems even their helicopters, such a plane can be their victim. According to Defense Express observers, copying Ukrainian decisions has become a common occurrence for the Russian army during a full -scale war.
And the story with light aircraft was no exception. For example, in Ukraine, the practice of using Yak-52 to hunt for intelligence drones-"eagles" and Zala-has been known since 2022. Since then, such missions have become a rarity against the background of the appearance of specialized anti -aircraft drones. These are the first recorded frames of this use, although reports on the search for the Russians of light aircraft for air defense appeared in 2024.
At the same time, plans for equipping such machines were discussed with radar stations and HRB, but their implementation raises doubts. In this context, experts ask a logical question why to use training planes if the Russian Federation has a large number of SCRs and combat aircraft? The answer lies in the country's scale and lack of complexes for covering the entire territory. Many systems are concentrated around Moscow, strategic objects and front, leaving vulnerabilities.
In addition, low -pouring and low -speed UAVs are often difficult to dare to radar and intercept. Therefore, the involvement of combat aircraft and helicopters for their destruction is economically and tactically not justified, which makes how the 52 is cheaper and more accessible. In conclusion, analysts noted that the use of Yak-52 now looks like an initiative event, perhaps on a voluntary basis.
However, Ukrainian experience shows that under systematic organization, such planes can be integrated into the structure of army aviation or even the PCS of the Russian Federation. Earlier it was reported that the Yakovlev design bureau intends to modernize the training aircraft Yak-52 in a new version of JAC-52B2, designed to fight drones. According to experts, the advantage of this machine lies in its maneuverability and the ability to effectively operate at low altitudes and speeds.
