"Puzaty Neptune" appeared in Ukraine: a new version of the R-360 rocket showed NATO allies (photo)

To spread: During the demonstration of the opportunities of the Ukrainian OPC for NATO member states, the version of the Neptune cruise missile was shown in public, which was not previously reported before. In one of the images published by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denis Shmigal, you can see the R-360 missile with noticeable thickening inside the building-because of this feature, it was already dubbed with "pushyl Neptune".

"They demonstrated ready-made solutions that affect the enemy on the front and in the rear. Our manufacturers have presented their own products that can be produced in partner countries tomorrow within the Build With Ukraine program," the head of the defense department said. Meanwhile, it is impossible to compare all three versions of the Neptune Family missiles unambiguously, the Defense Express analysts say, which paid attention to the publication of Schmigal.

In the picture, the diameter of the "Nepuzaty Neptune" coincides with the anti -ship version (approximately 38 cm), as well as, apparently, the wingspan and the total length (approximately 4. 5 m without accelerator). The thickening in the building experts and observers interpret as conformal fuel tanks, which theoretically enables to increase the internal volume of fuel and, accordingly, the flight range.

On this basis, analysts believe that the range of a new modification can be within 500 km-twice less than the declared range of Neptune-D missile (about 1000 km). At the same time, experts point out that by reducing the fuel supply and reducing the range, an increase in the mass of the combat part is possible-for example, up to more than 150 kg, as in the anti-ship version P-360.
