The Kremlin is interested only in the full surrender of Ukraine, everything else is misleading - isw

According to US military analysts, the Russian Federation is trying to force the West to agree on concessions about Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Institute of War Study continues to evaluate that the Kremlin is interested only in such negotiations that will lead to complete surrender of Ukraine, and any Russian statements about the opposite are directed only to mislead the event and make concessions about sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

This is stated in the ISW summary of August 13. As a fresh example, the recent words of the first deputy permanent representative of Russia at the UN Dmitry Polyansky, who stated at an informal meeting of the Russian Security Council on August 13, that the Ukrainian leadership chose the path of "escalation" and the continuation of military operations in the Kursk region.

Polyansky said that Ukraine deserves nothing but "complete defeat and unconditional surrender" in response to the emergence of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. The Russian diplomat mentioned that the Western allies of Ukraine did not condemn the actions of the Kiev authorities and, among other narratives, repeated the statement of "atrocities in the Donbass for eight years.
