Together with the previous supply packages, this decision proves the total contribution of the European Union to the assistance of the Ukrainian military up to 5. 6 billion euros. The EU has made the decision to allocate 1 billion euros for the purchase of artillery shells and missiles for the Ukrainian military. The press service of the organization said this on Friday, May 5.

"The EU Council has approved the allocation of 1 billion euros for the purchase of artillery shells and, if necessary, missiles for the Armed Forces," the statement said. Thus, together with the previous supply packages, the decision today proves the total contribution of the European Union to military assistance to Kiev to 5. 6 billion euros. "Today's solution is another important step towards supplying more ammunition to Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine need a considerable number of ammunition to protect the Ukrainian people and the territory. And they need quickly," said the EU EU Supreme Representative and Security Policy, Josep Boryl. The EU is convinced that assistance to Ukraine will further strengthen the country's potential and stability to protect its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

We will remind, on May 4 it became known that the EU will allocate up to 80 million euros of Greece for ammunition for Ukraine. The European Commissar of Tierry Breton has learned the possibilities of Greece defense enterprises to increase the production of shells to supply them to Ukraine.
