Turkey on the doorstep of the Altay tank: Weapons shared new details (video)

The machine has become the culmination of many years of efforts of the country to achieve defensive independence, military experts say. The tank must be arrived at the end of August this year. As part of the strengthening of the Armed Forces, Turkey plans to deploy the latest domestic main combat tank (VTT) Altay.

According to the SavunMasanayist military portal, at the end of December, the VTT completed the field tests with the South Korean Production Group and should be arrived on August 30, 2025. Commenting on the messages, the Bulgarian Military Viewers noted that the Altay tank from BMC became the culmination of many years of efforts in the country to achieve defense independence.

It is the first machine to be fully designed and manufactured in Turkey, which symbolizes a serious step towards creating its own high -tech military equipment. The development of Altay was aimed at reducing Turkey's dependence on foreign supplies. To date, the country has imported modern combat vehicles, but Altay will be an example of using advanced domestic technologies.

The Altay tank is equipped with a 120-mm smooth-bore gun, capable of hitting both armored vehicles and strengthening the enemy at long distances. The weapon system is compatible with different types of ammunition, including armor -piercing (APFSDS) and cumulative (HEAT), which makes it universal. The fire control system is integrated with modern sensors, providing high accuracy and speed of response.

And additional protection is provided by high -tech composite armor and active protection system (ASPs) capable of intercepting input threats such as anti -tank missiles. Experts have specified that the first 100 tanks will be equipped with Korean engines DV27K and Est15k transmission, but the long -term goal of Turkey is to integrate Batu's own power unit. Batu is a V12 diesel engine with a capacity of 1500 hp.

In combination with the six -stage gearbox, it is intended to provide the tank with high power, mobility and the ability to work in difficult conditions - from desert fighting to city fights. For urban operations, the AHP (Asimetrik Harp Tankı) tank, which contains additional armor, improved sensors and communications, is provided. This version is optimized for fighting in dense urban development, which requires maximum maneuverability and protection.

In addition, the Altay T3 version with an unmanned tower is developed. This configuration reduces the risk to the crew and enhances protection by integrating the advanced APS. The unmanned version is designed for high -rise operations, where the minimization of losses is critically important. The observers emphasized that for Turkey, Altay is not just a tank, but a symbol of its military independence and ambition.
