"And there are no more": As Russian propaganda helped air forces of the Armed Forces

The enemy landing, who captured Gostomel Airport, did not expect to see Ukrainian planes in the sky. The Russians did not have time to hide. At the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the Russians who believed in the statement of their command of destruction of Ukrainian aviation, they did not expect resistance. The navigator of the Su-24m, Hero of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Verbitsky, told about it.

He noted that this was a lot helped the work of Ukraine in the first week of war, because the enemy was not preparing to see the planes at all, openly moving columns. "They were literally visible from the plane: here are the cars, here is the personnel - just work. We see, we throw away bombs - and there are no longer they," he said.

During the first combat departure after the start of a full -scale invasion, the creation was tasked with hitting the Gostomel airfield in Kiev, where the landing of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was already landed. "They flew to the airfield, saw the Russian landing. Many soldiers. It was understood that if we were given a goal - there was definitely not our infantry. They, as I understood, did not expect to see at all," the military said.

The Russians began to run, trying to hide, but did not have time, recalled the navigator. After completing the task, the Ukrainian pilots had to come from Russian fighters. "Our fighters needed time to adjust a little and learn how to knock them down," the Air Force officer said. Subsequently, the Hero of Ukraine said, the invaders were clever and concluded. The Russians began to move more hidden, small columns to avoid blows from the air.
