Counter -offensive of the Armed Forces: Ukraine will start an operation without new fighters - Reznikov
He reported this during a briefing with Croatian Defense Minister Mario Banozhich in Odessa. According to Reznikov, Ukraine will not expect to supply fighters to start a counter -offensive. "As the Minister of Defense, I would prefer a full package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire security sector. But I always say that the main combat aircraft are mostly part of our air defense. It is their task number one," he said.
According to Reznikov, an important aspect for counter -offensive is the advantage in the air, but the military command of the country is really aware of its capabilities of weapons at this moment and decide how to use them with maximum efficiency. "It is a weapon that has remained since the Soviet times, as well as partners have been provided and continued. It is not only tanks, it is also armored vehicles of different types," Reznikov said.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine stressed that the receipt of the Armed Forces of the Fourth Generation of Modern Combat Aircraft is a matter of time, as well as the issue of making a decision to supply them by the Union countries. "It will also take time to teach Ukrainian pilots. Therefore, I believe that the options for receiving combat aircraft and the nearest counter -offensive will be separated by different stages of time," he summed up.
