The Russian Federation will get an analogue of Intel processors that China had not wanted to share before

The Chinese side was motivated by "national security", but after the US sanctions, it changed its mind and will now give the Russians access to these processors. Russia will collect laptops and servers based on Chinese LOONGSON processors, which, according to the PRC, is a full substitute for US Intel American processors. About it reports the edition "Kommersant".

According to its CEO Sergiy Ovchinnikov, the Russian company "Norii-Trans" has already purchased about 100 LOONGSON series processors, which will be released by the Test Party of Engineering. These processors are made of 12-Hm Processes and correspond to the performance of popular Intel Core i3 and I5. Based on these Nori-Trans processors, servers will collect.

For its part, the Russian "Promobit" is going to master the release of consumer equipment - computers and laptops on the basis of these processors. The Russians view Loongson processors as a viable alternative to their American counterparts from AMD and Intel. However, there is a slight staining: software support. Nori-Trans will cooperate with Basalt-Pos, the developer of the ALT operating system to adapt the OS for smooth operation with Loongson processors.

Meanwhile, it is unclear when Basalt-Pos adapts its OS for Loongson processors. The decision of Russian companies to make a choice in favor of the Loongson processors was made in view of strategic considerations. The Chinese government has previously limited the export of these processors because of their critical technological importance, including the use of China in the military-industrial complex.

But in March 2023, the United States brought Loongson to the black list and restricted her access to US technologies, perhaps, so the China government decided to lift the ban on the export of these processors. However, despite these joint achievements, the industry's experts are cautious. Reducing dependence on American technologies, this step can lead to a new dependence on Chinese technologies. Earlier, focus reported that China wants to do powerful chips with a particle accelerator.
