The presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania discussed the support of the Ukrainian energy system against the background of constant Russian strikes with missiles and drones

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy began his working visit to Lithuania with a meeting with the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausieda. Today in Vilnius there will be events on the occasion of the 163rd anniversary of the beginning of the January Uprising of 1863-1864 and the summit of the Lublin Triangle with the participation of the presidents of Lithuania, Ukraine and Poland.

The head of state informed the President of Lithuania about the daily Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system. Only on the night of Saturday, the Russians launched more than 370 attack drones and 21 missiles of various types against civilian and energy infrastructure. Lithuania has already decided to help Ukrainian cities and communities and transfer almost a hundred generators.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi thanked for the support and informed about other needs of our country for energy sustainability and strengthening of defense defense. Special attention was paid to military cooperation, the implementation of joint defense projects and the proposal of the Lithuanian side to open an arms export platform in Vilnius. First of all, the leaders discussed the amount of Lithuania's next contribution to the PURL initiative and cooperation within the framework of the SAFE program.
