Russian Putinist Gagarin is "expelled" from Kazakhstan, canceling concerts: what happened (photo)

To spread: Kazakhstan citizens initiated a petition to the local Ministry of Culture and information demanding to ban the speeches of Russian singer Paulina Gagarina in the cities of Astana and Almaty, referring to her political position. The petition is posted on the E-Petition platform, where the authors express serious concern about the planned performances of the artist who supports Vladimir Putin's political course.

The sale of tickets for the concert, scheduled for November 27, has already been suspended. "We, the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are concerned about holding concerts by Russian singer Paulina Gagarina, planned in the cities of Almaty and Astana," the initiators of the appeal say. Petition authors give several key arguments to support their requirements. The first concerns issues of public safety and public stability.

"The artist has publicly expressed and participated in the support of policy supporting international law and causes wide public resonance. This can cause social tension and split in Kazakh society," the document said. The second argument concerns the protection of national interests of the country. The initiators believe that the concert may be perceived as an indirect approval of views that contradict Kazakhstan's official foreign policy on peaceful settlement of international conflicts.

The third paragraph authors distinguish ethical and cultural considerations, emphasizing the traditional position of Kazakhstan on the development of culture. "Kazakhstan has always advocated the development of a culture based on mutual respect, and the invitation of performers whose activity is perceived as politicized, undermines the confidence of citizens in the organizers of cultural measures," they say.

In the final part of the petition, specific requirements are made: "Based on the above, we demand: to cancel the concerts of Pauline Gagarina in Almaty and Astana, to strengthen control over the invitation of foreign artists, whose activities can harm inter -ethnic harmony and public order in Kazakhstan. According to information on the official site of Polina Gagarina, the concert in Astana is still scheduled for November 27, but it is impossible to buy tickets now.
