To spread: a network of secret camps for Ukrainian prisoners of war has been created in Russia, which exists separately from the official penitentiary system. About it writes the Russian edition "Agency. News". According to lawyer Mykola Polozov, human rights activists have learned about the existence of secret prisons for Ukrainians only now and by chance - from the certificates of maintenance of the military of the Armed Forces, captured in Kursk region and near Donetsk.

"In a number of criminal cases against the prisoners of war we were in the courts, we saw a certificate of where they were held," Polozov explained. According to him, as a rule, prisoners of Ukrainians in Russia are kept in ordinary pre -trials or prisons. But now from court documents it became known that there is also a "Center for Temporary Detention of Persons detained for counteraction. " Polozov believes that such centers in Russia have been created at least four to five, but may be more.

No information about where such institutions can be found, human rights activists have failed. "They are not included in the federal system of penalties, they are controlled, obviously, the Ministry of Defense and the military police. And from there, no information - we have submitted requests - they categorically provide," Polozov said. It is also unknown how many Ukrainians are held in such places.

Polozov notes that in secret prisons the prisoners are in inhumane conditions, as those who have already been released from captivity are told. At the same time, in the official pre -trial detention center, where prisoners of war are placed if the Russian state decides to judge them "by law", the conditions of detention are usually a little better, the human rights activist says.
