Poland will spend $ 4.9 billion on the purchase of next -generation air defense systems: why is Warsaw you need it

Representatives of MBDA and PGZ will conclude an unprecedented transmission of key technologies and knowledge, so Poland will be able to produce the latest CAMM and missiles. On November 7, the largest defensive contractors of Great Britain and Poland signed a contract worth more than $ 4. 9 billion for the development of the next generation air defense system for the Polish Army.

The British side stated that more than 1000 anti-a-elastic rockets (CAMM-ER) and more than 100 Ilaunchers launches will be created as a result of the agreement. This was reported on social networks by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaschak.

"The PGZ state company and MBDA have concluded another industrial agreement under the NAREW program, which causes the Polish defense industry to put more than 1000 CAMM ER missiles and more than 100 starting installations to the Polish defense industry," said Blaschak.

According to him, in the framework of the implementation of the NAREW program, representatives of MBDA and PGZ will conclude an agreement on "unprecedented transfer of key technologies and knowledge" from the British company to Polish colleagues. Due to this in Poland it will be possible to produce launchers and the missiles themselves, including the active radar heads of the guidance.

According to Defense 24, the Polish army is already equipped with CAMM missiles standard execution in two MAła Narew combat units. In addition, the Poles signed contracts on the Pilica+system, including 22 RLS (£ 1. 1 billion), Zenit command system (over £ 600 million), Pilica battle blocks (£ 3 billion) and 38 CAMM launchers Narew (£ 1. 8 billion).

Thus, the cost of the entire Pilica+ system is almost similar to the value of Narew industrial contract, but the latter's implementation, experts emphasized, will give Poland a system with much greater combat capabilities, and most importantly - the possibility of its own production of its key components - starting installations and missiles. For its part, the UK Ministry of Defense noted that the new agreement "strengthen European security after a full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine.
