"Fight on two fronts": the expert explained why the Russian Federation is expanding the army

Currently, Russia does not have enough personnel and technical forces to open the second front, so the Kremlin can only threaten the measure only with nuclear weapons. Military expert Yuri Fedorov believes that Russia is trying to expand its army in order to start fighting on two fronts, including against the Baltic States, Finland and Poland. He reported this in a comment from Channel 24.

"Please note that Sergei Shoigu and Valery Gerasimov openly say that it is necessary to create a new army corps, which will be directed against Finland, will be based in Karelia, will consist of three motor-rifle divisions, two airborne assault brigades," Yuriy Fedorov said. According to him, now all the capable parts of the Russian Federation are employed in the war in Ukraine, so the country has neither military nor technical forces that could go against Finland or the Baltic States.

However, the Kremlin has the idea of expanding its army and opening the second front - with NATO countries. Yuri Fedorov noted that while Russia can threaten the measure only by nuclear war, but it is a "extremely risky step. " He is convinced that the forces of the Russian Federation, according to the General Staff, can pose a real threat in the Baltic region if they expand and equip their army.

Recall that in the report of the American Institute of War Study (ISW) of July 31 it was stated that the Russians began to set fire to military enlistment offices in the Russian Federation and in the occupied Crimea. In May, the founder of the Wagner PEC Yevgeny Prigogin stated that in order to win the Russian Federation it is necessary to carry out general mobilization, so it is inevitable.
