The Ukrainian Air Defense umbrella is compressed: the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation can cut off the front areas and destroy logistics - ISW
Analysts refer to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba, who stated that from March 18 to March 24, the PCS of the Russian Federation launched 190 missiles of different types, 140 drones of Shahd and 700 corrected bombs for purposes in Ukraine. The new strengthening of Russian shelling will probably make Ukraine protect priority objects - settlements, critical infrastructure and industrial objects in the rear, not on the front line, is considered ISW analysts.
Kuleba noted that the widespread use of corrected airbombs along the front line gives the Russian Federation a serious advantage. The only thing that can be opposed to this is a air defense, which would knock down the planes with bombs. The Russian forces, among other things, with the help of massive blows, achieved a tactical effect during the capture of Avdiivka in mid -February and then constantly increased the blows of managed and unmanaged bombs in the rear and advanced Ukrainian positions.
Representatives of the event and Ukraine are increasingly warning about the critical deficit of VOP missiles in the coming months. Further narrowing of the air defense umbrellas will not only limit the ability to protect critically important objects in the rear, but also probably allow Russian aviation to act safely along the front line. Russian planes will be able to destroy military logistics and cities.
At the same time, the PCS of the Russian Federation will significantly reduce the combat capabilities of Ukraine and will be able to isolate individual sections on the front line for prompt promotion. The US assistance would add stability to Ukraine's air defense umbrellas - and the prospect described would no longer be viewed.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said March 28 that five to seven additional Patriot air defense systems will enable Ukraine to protect settlements, industrial facilities and the Ukrainian army. Kuleba added that strong air defense along the front line will not allow the Armed Forces to lose their position and make Russian troops leave. We will remind that on March 29 the PCS of the Russian Federation conducted a massive shelling of Ukraine: launched 99 rockets and UAVs.
