He lives in a shed and dreams of a goat: how does a single resident of the occupied village in Kharkiv survives.

During one of the shelling, the woman was injured and was in hospital in Russia. She got home through Latvia, Belarus and Poland. The village of Dementiivka of the Dergachiv community in Kharkiv region was occupied by Russian invaders twice. He was released twice for the Defense forces of Ukraine, and from July last year it is under the control of Ukraine. Now there is only one resident in the settlement-the 73-year-old faith of Chornukh.

About how she survives in the destroyed war of the settlement writes the newspaper "Medusa". The village of Dementiivka is located 27 kilometers north of Kharkov. From the beginning of the full -scale war, it has been occupied twice - from March to May and from July 13 to 18, 2022. For Dementiivka there were fierce fighting because of its location. The invaders used the hills in the settlement for firing of Kharkiv from artillery.

The 73-year-old Vera Chernukha is the only one who now lives in Dementiyivka. To the nearest neighbor - 11 kilometers. During one of the shelling, the pensioner was seriously injured and was in hospital in Russia. She did not have the intention to stay in the aggressor country, so she asked for help from volunteers, and they sent her through Latvia to Belarus, and then to Poland, from where the woman got to her native village in Kharkiv region.

Returning, she found that there was no living soul in the village, but nevertheless, she remained in the destroyed Dementiyivka. The woman's own house burned after shelling. After that, the pensioner settled in the shed - she grows vegetables and wants to get a goat. We will remind that in Kherson region Russian invaders abducted and killed a young couple in the village of Mala Rogan. The bodies of the husband and wife were found the next day with traces of bullets.
