Emblem with a winged microcircuit: the Russian Federation has officially created troops of unmanned systems

Share: Russia has officially completed the formation of a new kind of army — the army of unmanned systems. The creation of the structure has been completed, and the units are already operating in the combat zone against Ukraine. The structure of the new type of troops has already been determined, and military management bodies have been created at all levels, said the deputy chief of these troops, Colonel Serhii Ishtuganov.

"The troops of unmanned systems in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have been created. The combat work of unmanned units of unmanned systems is conducted according to a single plan and in cooperation with other units of military groups," the colonel clarified. Russia also began preparations for the creation of a higher military educational institution for these troops.

As Ishtuganov noted, the training is conducted both at the training grounds of the military districts and in the rear areas of the occupied territories of Ukraine. This may indicate Moscow's attempts to systematically institutionalize the experience of using drones accumulated during the war.

"Today, the training of specialists continues both at the universities of the Ministry of Defense, and at military training centers attached to civilian universities, and at public organizations, and at enterprises that produce samples of unmanned systems. But already today, work is underway to create a higher military educational institution for the troops of unmanned systems," Ishtuganov added.

The footage published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation shows the new emblem of the unmanned systems forces — a crossed sword and arrow, on top of which is a winged chip with a star. The symbolism, according to military analysts, emphasizes the "synthesis of technology and weapons" — a key element of the Russian concept of modern warfare.

It should be noted that as early as 2024, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Andriy Belousov, announced the creation of a new type of army - "troops of unmanned systems", noting that the initiative came from President Vladimir Putin.

Belousov stated that the formation of troops should be completed within the prescribed time frame, and emphasized the need to create scientific and technical centers for the development of navigation systems and countering threats in space in view of the growing role of space systems in the conduct of hostilities. We will remind, in Ukraine, a similar type of troops was created in the winter of 2024.
