Representatives of the RDC stated that the Russian air defense could not protect the military airfield from the shelling, and instead - hit the dwelling house. On the night of August 26 to August 27, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps, conducted an operation at the airfield in the Russian city of Kursk. "The Russian Volunteer Corps is pleased to tell the next, successful attack conducted in conjunction with the SBU's military counterintelligence in Kursk region," the statement said. It is informed that on the night of August 27, an attack was carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles on a military airfield. "All the goals were destroyed. We emphasize that the legitimate goals that were grief and death to peaceful Ukrainian cities were also affected.

The soldiers said that the Russian air defense did not cover the military object, but instead hit the Kursk residential building. According to the RDC, that the Governor of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation lied about the drone attack on the house, and the Ministry of Defense of Russia in general tried to give up this incident. On the night of August 27, the SBU counterintelligence with drones attacked an airfield with Russian military equipment and aviation in Kursk.

Almost all SBU drones were able to fly to their goals. According to preliminary information, only three of them were eliminated by Russian air defense. Four Su-30 aircraft and one MiG-29 were affected. Two "shells" and radars of the C-300 complex were also destroyed. It was later learned that for the first time the Australian UAV of Sypaq is used for an attack on the airfield in Kursk. It is made of material that makes it almost imperceptible to radar stations.
