The Ukrainian Ombudsman urged Ukrainians not to go independently in search of deported children and relatives, as there is a risk of becoming hostages of the invaders. The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets told how to act to Ukrainians who want to return loved ones who were exported to the Russian Federation or in the occupied territories. The Ombudsman announced this on the air of the telecast on August 11.

The official stated that the citizens of Ukraine who want to return their children, relatives, relatives, detained by Russian invaders, should first and foremost write a relevant statement to the National Police. Then you need to contact the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights. "We have the mechanisms developed. I cannot open the details, but you see that we are returning Ukrainian children from the territory of Russia," the Ombudsman said.

Dmitry Lubinets warned Ukrainians against independent trips to the occupied territories or in the Russian Federation, as there is a risk that the occupiers are detained. "We do this so that we do not have another civilian hostage," Lubinets summed up.
