Continuation of Ukraine support, bilateral cooperation and pressure on Russia: President has a conversation with Canada Prime Minister

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has a telephone conversation with Canada Prime Minister Mark Karney. The Head of State congratulated Mark Karney on his post and thanked for the support of Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and noted Canada's contribution to military assistance, energy support and joint work with partners to approach just and long peace. One of the key topics of conversation is to increase pressure on Russia.

The Prime Minister shared his vision of how to increase sanctions against Moscow. In particular, it was about total sanctions against the shadow tanker fleet and the banking sector. Volodymyr Zelensky and Mark Karney also discussed the humanitarian aspect of security guarantees for Ukraine, which covers the restoration of our country and support the economy after the war. Particular attention is a Ukrainian topic during Canada's presidency in the Seven Group.

Among other things, it was about the results of a meeting of foreign ministers G7, which took place on March 12-14 in Canada, and a strong final communique. The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Canada have agreed to interact in different formats and at different levels to make cooperation even more subject and practical. In addition, they discussed the development of bilateral relations. Canada is interested in military-industrial and defense cooperation.
