Germany will thaw humanitarian visas for foreigners: however, for Russians and Belarus there is a nuance - DW

To spread: the German authorities will thaw the issuance of humanitarian visas for foreigners, in particular for Russians and Belarusians. However, there is one nuance for citizens of Russia, Belarus and Iran. The abolition was confirmed in two agencies: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Germany. This was reported by DW on Saturday, August 23. Both institutions were reminded of the German law on stay (Aufenthaltsgesetz, paragraph 22, paragraph 2).

According to this paragraph of the article, the Ministry of Internal Affairs may allow the reception of citizens of other countries in the TGR for "providing political interests" of the country. The law does not distinguishes Russians or Belarus, and applies to all foreigners.

The agencies were informed to the publication that they would restore the procedures for admission of persons who are dangerous "through activities to protect freedom of speech, democracy and human rights", as well as the reception of which "represents political interest for other reasons". The German Foreign Ministry emphasized that such procedures are an "important foreign policy tool" to maintain these persons.

The German Foreign Ministry also informed about some changes in the rules for issuing humanitarian visas. The department said that for citizens from Belarus, Russia and Iran, a separate "accelerated procedure of admission", which was agreed by institutions for the actions of previous governments of Germany, will no longer be used.

It is worth noting that in July this year, the German Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the country suspends the activities of humanitarian programs, which took place of refugees from different countries. It was noted that the FNR would cease to issue visas to all oppositionists from Belarus and Russia, as well as migrants from the Middle East.

Humanitarian visas, according to DW, were written by humanitarian visas for Belarusians and Russians in 2022, after the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. Within three years, humanitarian visas in Germany have received about 3,000 citizens of Russia. We will remind, on August 20, the Daily Mail reported that a visa in the US may not be given because of the new introduction of Donald Trump.
