A spokesman for the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Andriy Yusov in an interview with RBC-Ukraine portal told about the details of the work and production of military drones of the Russian Federation. "Product-54" is a simplified version of Iranian Dron-Kamikadze Shahd-136, explained the scout. The drone is produced at the production complex located inside the Italmas shopping center in Izhevsk, which is why it was given the second name "Italmas".
Andriy Yusov said that the Russians used retail space to launch production. Yusov stressed that on the front line in Ukraine "product-53" and "product-54" are not massively used. According to preliminary data, they can have the latest opportunities, but the issue is still studied by Ukrainian scouts. "With regard to their ability to automatically adjust, guidance and recognize the goal is a discussion question," GUR said.
He stressed that there is currently information about the new opportunities for the updated "lancet", called "product-53", Russian media is distributed, so it cannot be relied on. However, Yusov acknowledged that the improved UAV really noticed on the front line and this is "always an additional risk factor.
