The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is beating in gas storage facilities: Kiev assures traders that it is safe to store gas in Ukraine - the media

Ukrtransgaz offers European traders up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas, or a third of all repositories of Ukraine, but journalists suggest that this year, the EU may be less willing to use Ukrainian repositories due to Russian attacks. Kiev seeks to convince traders from the European Union that it is still safe to store fuel in Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities, despite the strikes of the Russian Federation's Armed Forces. Bloomberg writes about it.

It is reported that European countries usually use summer months to accumulate stocks before the next heating period. According to Roman Malyutin, the General Director of Ukrtransgaz gas storage operator, up to 4 billion cubic meters of gas will be delivered to Ukrainian storage during this time. According to journalists, Ukrtransgaz offers foreign traders up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas, or a third of all repositories of Ukraine.

"I would like to emphasize that the loss does not affect our gas pumping capabilities into underground gas storage facilities," Malyutin said in a comment to the publication. Malyutin indicated that, despite the full-scale war, the operator has more than a thousand contracts, 168 of which were concluded with non-resident companies. According to journalists, this year European traders can be less willing to use repositories in Ukraine, as Russian invaders seek to strike on them.

"Sunday attack will strengthen this caution. However, we have a sufficient reserve of capacity and we are ready to respond," Ukrtransgaz said. According to Malyutin, the company has measures to mitigate the consequences in the event of harm to a particular object. For example, gas in certain storage is not related to specific consumers, and the firm considers all its objects as one.

Commenting on the Russian attack, Malyutin also noted that the company has time to repair the damaged object, "because damaged equipment is only needed to ensure peak gas selection since January next year. " We will remind, according to the operator of the GTS of Ukraine (OGTSU) of September 28, since April 2023 40 foreign gas traders used his service Shorthaul and continue to transport gas to Ukraine.
