To NATO Anniversary: Reznikov explained when the war would end and announced Ukraine's accession to the Alliance
Reznikov commented CNN to join the Alliance. According to him, the next NATO summit, which will take place in July 2024 in Washington, when the 75th anniversary of the organization will be celebrated. The agency noted that the North Atlantic Alliance agreement has paragraph 5, which indicates the assistance of a community member in the event of an attack. At the same time, the United States and a number of other countries stressed that Ukraine would be adopted after the war.
In this regard, Reznikov was asked if the war would end before the summer of 2024. The Minister of Defense replied CNN: "Yes. We win this war. " In addition, the official expects that after the victory, the introduction will take place according to the simplified procedure. And this will not interfere with resistance, such as the United States. Although he acknowledges that Ukraine will, of course, continue to work on the necessary reforms.
According to Reznikov, one of the arguments for Ukraine's accession to NATO is its real fight against Russia. The Armed Forces gained experience of war with the Russians with the help of weapons and standards of the Alliance. So, the minister summed up, the accession will only be a "plus" for the organization: "After victory it will be in the interests of NATO, because we have become a real NATO oriental oriental shield.
" It should be noted that during a summit in Vilnius in July 2023, NATO countries offered Ukraine a program of support, which consists of three points. According to Jens Stoltenberg's statement, it is about strengthening political cooperation, the abolition of MAPs and the implementation of the Armed Forces transfer program to alliance standards.
A few days after the summit was completed, it became known about the possible preparation of Ukrainian pilots in Romania: in this country there is a squadron of F-16 aircraft, instructors and training equipment. However, consultations on the training program itself continued - they decided what pilots would be taught in the next half a year. We would like to remind you that the US government has explained that Ukraine will have to wait somewhat to receive F-16 aircraft.
