In South Korea, they created a device that will "deceive" the weapon of an enemy with a laser guidance
They are able to effectively block the target fire, significantly increasing the survival of the military. According to DAPA, KM5 smoke checkers and floating white smoke checkers KM4A2 have been used by the South Korea Army since the 1980s. However, they can block visible light, but powerless against weapons that uses infrared rays.
In turn, new advanced smoke checkers can not only block visible light, but also scatter infrared radiation, which complicates the detection of soldiers and other military purposes with the help of thermal imaging systems and laser weapons of the enemy. In addition, new smoke checkers have low toxicity, so they will minimize the harm of the health of soldiers and a natural ecosystem. Other advantages of the product include durability and reduced combat load due to less weight.
"We are proud that we have developed an infrared protective smoke checker with improved characteristics and reduced toxicity, using our own technology, and signed the first contract for mass production,"-said DAPA Kim Ho-Os. South Korea's army is expected to receive these devices by 2025. In addition, DAPA has stated intention to offer improved smoke checkers for sale to other countries.
We will remind, the Ukrainian specialist in radio technologies Sergey Beskrestnov reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use the ZALA Z-16IRQ-V/L reconnaissance drones, equipped with a thermal imaginary with a laser target, which illuminates the green beam of the position of defense forces of Ukraine. It was also reported that Ukraine's defense forces use heavy bombard drones of Baba Yaga, equipped with 125-mm laser projectiles, which makes UAV discharge more accurately.
