Drones hit an important energy hub of the Russian Federation: it connects the energy systems of the Urals and Central Russia (video)

Share: Drones attacked Russia's Ulyanovsk region. As a result of this attack, a major fire broke out at the important Veshkaima electrical substation, and two large airports had to be shut down. The "Veshkaima" substation is a key node of the energy "ring" of the Middle Volga region, the Supernova+ Telegram channel clarifies.

It connects the energy systems of several Russian regions at once, provides a connection between the Urals and Central Russia (in particular, the Ulyanovsk and Samara regions). The first footage from the scene of the fire has already been made public. The airports of the Russian cities of Izhevsk and Ufa also suspended their operations due to the drone threat.

Russian monitoring channels reported on the work of air defense in the Ulyanovsk region, but the report of the Russian defense department does not mention this region. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports only on the downing of drones in the Bryansk, Kaluga and Moscow regions, as well as over the Black Sea. Earlier it became known that Ukrainian drones hit oil depots, warehouses and radars in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Strikes were made on the oil depot in the village of Gvardiysky, the territory of the "Gvardiyskyi" combine in the Saksky district, as well as on the composition of the Russian Armed Forces in Dzhankoya and the radar station in Yevpatoria. It was also reported that the Russian resort city of Sochi was attacked by drones and missiles. Evacuation of tourists began in local hotels, residents were urged to sit in "deaf" rooms and not go outside.
