US senators put pressure on Biden to recognize Russia with sponsor of terrorism

Senator Lindsey Graham (Photo: Reuters/Sarah Silbiger) Senator-Democrat Richard Blumental and Senator-Republican Lindsey Graham called on US President Joe Baiden's admit to Russia's terrorism by Russia. According to CNN, senators will push Congress to adopt a bill on the assignment of this status of the Russian Federation, regardless of Biden's support.

According to American politicians, Biden should increase the pressure on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and continue to assist Ukraine in the conditions of invasion. "I hope that the President decides to voluntarily take this position and he did not exclude it from the discussion of the state-sponsor of terrorism," Blumental said.

Graham wants the Biden administration to interact with Congress to declare Russia sponsor of terrorism, but he said, Congress is ready to promote the law that requires it, no matter what. On July 28, the US Senate unanimously approved a resolution that calls on the State Department to declare Russia the state-existence of terrorism.

At the same time, according to The New York Times, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is afraid to recognize Russia as a state-existence of terrorism, as it will make sanctions on US allies that are dealing with the Russian Federation and can destroy the remnants of diplomacy between Washington and Moscow.
