The DPRK will help Russia: the ISW told whether the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for war for the whole 2024

According to analysts, the supply of ammunition from North Korea to Russia increased significantly after Pyongyang and Moscow began official technical cooperation in September. Russia is developing the production of artillery shells, and North Korea helps it. Therefore, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will be enough ammunition for war against Ukraine in 2024. This was reported by analysts of the Institute of War Study (ISW).

The report of October 23 states that Colonel Kiviselg, the Chief of Intelligence of Estonia, said that there were still about four million artillery shells in Russia. They can be used for war, but much less intensity than in 2022. According to Kiviselga, North Korea could send up to 1000 containers with ammunition to Russia, each of which contains from 300 to 500 units of artillery shells. Thus, the DPRK sent from 300 to 500 thousand ammunition to the Russian Federation.

This number of Russian troops will be able to shoot in a month, provided that about 10 thousand shells a day daily. According to military analyst Petro Chernyk, Russian troops are now shooting from 10 to 15 thousand shells a day. However, according to Western analysts, the supply of ammunition from North Korea to Russia has increased significantly after Pyongyang and Moscow began official technical cooperation in September.

"Russia will probably be able to maintain a generally sufficient fighter in the future," the report reads. ISW reported that reducing the density of artillery fire can affect the ability of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to perform offensive operations. It should be reminded that the expert of the analytical center "United Ukraine" Valentin Gladkik called the reason for the reconciliation of gas trucks for the offensive on Avdiivka.
