The shelling of August 26 violated the work of four nuclear reactors: Ukraine sent a note

As a result of the Russian blow, on August 26, the Ukrainian energy system lost half of the capacities generated by nuclear power plants. The reason for this situation is the action of the Russian Federation, which intentionally curses infrastructure objects, is referred to in the application of Ukraine to the IAEA.

During a massive shelling of Ukraine, which was carried out on August 26, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, four reactors at two Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs) were injured. The attack of the Russian Federation damaged the substations that transferred almost half of the capacity to the network. The consequences of the impact of the Russian Federation in Ukraine are referred to in the note, which was sent to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna.

The text of the document appeared on the IAEA portal on August 28. The address of Ukraine consists of two pages and received it on August 27, according to the first page of the document. The theme is a massive shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure, which took place on August 26. The IAEA officials were informed about the shutdown of four reactors and asked to spread this information among all member countries of this international organization.

The text states that two nuclear stations were affected during the shelling: the first reactors of the RAES - the event occurred at 8:58 (Eastern European time). After that at 9:05 the power of the Poues blocks to 1 800 MW was reduced, but at 17:10 the block # 3 was disconnected, indicated in the address. At the same time, they emphasized that the actions of the Russian Federation are aimed at civilian energy infrastructure and threaten nuclear security.

"The Russian Federation continues intentionally targeting the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, intending to disrupt the operation of nuclear power plants in the country, which provide the majority of electricity of Ukraine. Russian attacks pose a significant risk to the stable operation of Ukraine's nuclear installations and the safety of millions of people," Ukraine summed up.

On the portal of the IAEA and on the social networks of this organization, as well as in accounts of its leader, Raphael Grosssey, there is still no reaction to the appeal of Ukraine to strike the Russian Federation on August 26. Instead, you can find the IAEA concern in the Kursk region near the Kursk NPP, dated the same number. To evaluate the loss of energy capacity that happened on August 26, you can take data of JSC "NAEK" Energoatom "of March 7, 2024 on the volume of atomic generation.
