Boeing, Airbus: Airlines More than 100 Western companies through India got to the Russian Federation - the media
Aviathali, including generators, sensors, propeller blades and cabin displays, got to Russian airlines, including Utair. A total of 700 cargoes were recorded, the fourth of which came to Utair. There is no direct evidence of violation of sanctions by Western companies. The sale of aviation parts to Russia is forbidden in the United Kingdom and the EU, and the United States has significantly limited such deliveries.
However, Western countries face difficulties in combating intermediary firms that help Russia get the necessary technologies. Investigate Europe's research showed that, despite sanctions, spare parts continued to enter Russia through India. The scheme involved about a dozen Indian companies that received details from Western suppliers and sent them to Russian buyers. At the same time, Western companies could not know that their products are being shipped to the Russian Federation.
Two British companies, Step Aviation and ASL Aerospace, are among the main suppliers. Step Aviation sent more than 60 cargo worth $ 3 million to Indian Shaurya Aeronautics, which then transported them to Russia. In October 2024, the United States imposed sanctions against Shaurya for the supply of double -use technologies. Asl Aerospace has sent about 60 cargo to four Indian companies that later exported products to Russia.
It turned out that Boeing also sent at least 80 goods to India, which partially got to Russia through Ascend Aviation. At the end of October, the United States imposed sanctions on Ascend Aviation and its leaders, but the United Kingdom and the EU did not. Airbus also put 12 cargoes to India, which eventually found themselves in Russia, in particular in the Aeroflot State Airline. Western companies assure that sanctions.
Boeing stopped major operations in Russia in 2022, and Airbus stated that he strictly controls the restrictions. ASL Aerospace stressed that it is careful monitoring of its deliveries. India did not join Western sanctions against Russia. A representative of the Indian Government stated that it did not see violations of local legislation, but companies would provide recommendations on international export control.
