In the Russian Federation, the ships of the Black Sea Fleet were made with "advanced" air defense systems

The modernization of new Russian ships is caused by threats from Ukrainian surface drones. The invaders in this way try to eliminate the problem that has suffered more than one ship of the Black Sea Fleet. According to the resource, now the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation has four such ships, two more are in the construction process. Initially, the patrol ships of the project 22160 were designed to accomplish tasks in peacetime, such as the fight against piracy and guaranteeing the safety of navigation.

The main focus was on their modular design, which allows you to quickly adapt ships to various tasks by installing additional equipment and weapons. However, new threats, in particular from the Ukrainian unmanned surface apparatus and missile systems, require the Black Sea Fleet to revise the tactics of using these ships. The 22160 ship ships have a length of about 94 meters and a watertone from 1 600 to 1 800 tons.

They are equipped with a combined diesel gas installation, which provides a range of swimming up to 6,000 sea miles (11 112 km) and a maximum speed up to 30 knots (55 km/h). The ship's crew is about 40 people, but up to 80 team members can accommodate on board. Weapons include a 76-mm dual-use sea gun, two 14. 5 mm of large-caliber machine guns, grenade launchers, as well as an optional Caliber missile complex.

The ships are equipped with a helicopter and Helicopter Helicopters, which enables them to perform a wide range of tasks, including prototic defense and search and rescue operations. The authors of the material noted that since the first ship of this class, "Vasily Beykov", at the end of 2018, patrol ships of the project 22160 were actively used in various operations.
