Everyone in the world knows it well. And we must finally act. It is necessary to liberate from the Russian occupation all the lands that the occupiers try to leave behind. Only in this way can we regain the full force of international law. The UN Charter and the entire set of treaties and conventions on which international law and order will be based only when the occupiers are lost and the peoples of the world will be protected from any occupation.
This war against Ukraine, against international law and order, against our people, Russia put itself in conditions when it is now only a matter of time - the real release of everything that was once captured and is now under the control of the Kremlin. In its example, Russia will show all potential aggressors of the world that the invading terrorist war in our time is the way to weaken and inevitably destroy the one who begins such a war. The aggressor must lose. So be it.
So that such wars are no longer repeated and that peace is really long -term. There should be nothing to remain invaders. I believe: for our partners, justice will be restored. Only during this week did our soldiers be released from the Russian pseudo -referendum 776 square kilometers of the territory in the east of our country and 29 settlements, including six in Luhansk region.
In total, 2434 square kilometers of our land and 96 settlements have already been released from the beginning of this offensive operation. And today I want to celebrate the fighters of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade, the 80th separate airborne assault brigade and the 25th separate airborne brigade for the heroic efforts to liberate Ukrainian land. There are good results in the south of Ukraine for this week - every day we release our land and our people from pseudo -referendum.
We will definitely reach the lands that were occupied by Russia before. Thank you to all our defenders and defenders who provide it! During these 225 days, 29,887 Ukrainian soldiers have been awarded state awards. 178 Warriors were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. This scale of the courage and heroism of our fighters clearly testifies to the benefit that Ukraine will not stop.
And each of the Russian blows, all manifestations of Russian terror - against Zaporozhye, against Kharkiv, against Nikolaev, against the Donbass and all our other territories - only prove that the liberation of all our land is the only foundation for peace and security for all Ukrainians. Today he participated in the meeting of the European Council. He thanked our partners for the eighth sanction package against Russia and for all support for Ukraine.
