According to the Hungarian diplomat Peter Siarto, Budapest will continue to take a position that does not provide for the supply of assistance to the Armed Forces. Hungary's position that Ukraine is not assisted by the supply of weapons is due to the fact that it allegedly affects the duration of the war. This was stated by Foreign Minister Peter Siarto, CNBC reports on November 29.

According to him, Budapest will not provide military assistance for Kiev, because "the more weapons will be delivered, the longer the war will last. " This position Hungary is followed from the first days of the Russian invasion. At the same time, Prime Minister Viktor Orban continues his cooperation with Russia and in October he met with Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, the material said.

Peter Siarto noted that the visit was allegedly related to finding out whether the possibility of peace was in the near future, or the conflict between the countries would continue. CNBC also added that Hungary, as a member of the European Union, opposes international sanctions against the Russian Federation and does not want to restrict oil and gas imports. In Budapest, this is argued by protecting their energy cooperation, as it needs to maintain energy supply and fight inflation.
