President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has a telephone conversation with Canada Prime Minister Mark Karney. The Head of State thanked Canada for the support of Ukraine, in particular for providing military and financial assistance and sanctions against Russia. Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed about the current defensive needs of Ukrainian soldiers.

The leaders discussed the assets of the air defense systems and missiles, as well as increased funding for the joint production of drones, including interceptors. Particular attention was paid to the need for pressure on Russia, especially the sanction. The President and the Prime Minister talked about the introduction of new sanctions that could deprive Russia of the opportunity to finance the continuation of the war.

Volodymyr Zelensky and Mark Karney discussed the results of the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with the Russian side, which took place last week in Istanbul. During the negotiations, representatives of Ukraine once again stressed that there should be a ceasefire to stop murder and strikes in civil and critical infrastructure. The President noted that Ukraine is still expecting a proposal to meet the leaders' level by the end of August.
