The Ukrainian was recruited by the FSB and joined the Russian Hacker Organization "People's Syberarmia of the Russian Federation". Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a hacker who cited Russian missiles on Kharkiv, and also prepared cyberattacks for a number of government sites of Ukraine. The information about this appeared in the official Telegram channel of the department on Thursday, January 25.

The SBU's cyberfactors found a member of the Russian Hacker Organization "People's Syberarmia of the Russian Federation" in Kharkiv, the FSB controlled. According to this person, Russian invaders have struck two rocket strokes on civil infrastructure in the center of the region. Among the damaged objects was a local hospital. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, a suspect of 18 years. The suspect also conducted the reconnaissance of the defense forces in the region.

First of all, he was interested in the operational positions of artillery and air defense systems of the Armed Forces. In addition, the hacker performed the FSB tasks for the preparation of the DDOS series for sites of Ukrainian state-owned enterprises and authorities. According to the investigation, the attacker was a local IT specialist, whom the FSB recruited to work with a hacker community through a specialized Telegram channel.

In order to gather information on the deployment of the Armed Forces, the accused traveled in the region and secretly recorded places where, in his opinion, the military forces of Ukraine may be. He transmitted the information to the FSB through the messenger in the form of screenshots of electronic cards with potential goals. During the search, three mobile phones, a laptop and a flash drive, which he used for subversive activity in favor of Russia, were removed from the apartment.

The suspect is currently in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison. We will remind, in early January in the SBU stated that hackers who attacked "Kyivstar" had access to the system of mobile operator since May 2023. The official cyberattack investigation has not yet been completed. Law enforcement officers are now considering "different versions", but none of them can be considered final. And in September 2023, the SBU detained the FSB agent, who was a hacker.
