In three border areas with Ukraine, the Russian Federation introduced a counter -terrorist operation regime

As noted in the National Anti-Terrorist Committee of Russia, such a decision was made "in connection with the increase in the level of sabotage and terrorist threats from Ukraine. " In the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions of Russia, a counter -terrorist operation (CTO) was introduced. This was reported by the Russian propaganda edition of "RIA Novosti" with reference to the National Anti -Terrorist Committee of Russia.

Initially, information emerged that the counter -terrorist operation is administered only in the territory of Bryansk region. However, subsequently the temporary acting governor of Kursk region, Oleksi Smirnov, stated that in his region also introduced a CTO regime, and the National Anti -Terrorist Committee of the Russian Federation reported that the same regime was introduced in Belgorod region.

The official reason for the introduction of a counter-terrorist operation is "raising the level of sabotage and terrorist threats from Ukraine. " The National Anti -Terrorist Committee of the Russian Federation also stated that Ukraine made "an unprecedented attempt to destabilize the situation in a number of regions of Russia.
