The Russian UAV has the following characteristics: according to Romanenko, the flight of a new drone can be distinguished by a characteristic whistle, the source of which is a turbouoable engine.

At the same time, the size, design, mass and type of combat part in "Gerani-3" are the same as in the predecessor. The expert noted that the jet engine complicates the interception, but at the same time opens new opportunities to fight. Unlike the piston version, "Gerani-3" emits strong thermal radiation, which makes the drone vulnerable to portable anti-aircraft missile systems (MAG). "Because there is a source of heat, thermal guidance helps to whisk them effectively," Romanenko added.

According to the expert, Ukraine actively uses the means of electronic struggle (HRB), which is why a large part of Russian drones are lost in the air and does not reach goals. In addition, the actions of army aircraft and even light aircraft Yak-52 with machine guns on board remain effective. Such crews have already destroyed more than 120 reconnaissance drones in Odesa region.

According to Romanenko, the future of confrontation with Russian drones - according to specialized missiles against UAVs, which are developed by Western partners. Their main advantage is the relative cheapness and high efficiency, which is critical when reflecting massive attacks. "The rocket should be cheaper than the drone itself. To confidently knock down the drone, you need to start a minimum of 2 rockets. The rocket speed is higher than that of the anti-aircraft drone-interceptor.
