The President got acquainted with the plan of returning illegally deported by Russia Bring Kids Back UA and participated in the opening of the Child Protection Center
It is an interagency center for children who have been victims of crimes or witnesses, where appropriate experts can receive information from children and their families, conduct a medical examination, in particular for forensic purposes, and provide the necessary therapeutic assistance. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also participated in the presentation of the Bring Kids Back UA.
In order to execute the President, representatives of state authorities have developed this comprehensive plan of action, which unites the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities, foreign governments and international organizations for the sake of returning to the homeland of all young citizens of Ukraine. The Head of State thanked the creation of the Center for the Protection of the Rights of the Child and Development of Action Plan to return home for young Ukrainians.
“The first step is taken, 371 children at home, in Ukraine. Let's do everything to bring everyone back, and probably the main meaning is in the name of Bring Kids Back UA. I wish us frankly - to return all the children home, to Ukraine, and I fully support this program. I want to return children as soon as possible. This is the most important, ”said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The event was also joined by: Presidential Office Head Andriy Yermak, Vice Prime Minister-Minister for Reintegration Verkhovna Rada on Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets, Chairman of the Coordination Center for Family Education and Care of Children Irina Tulyakova. Coordination of the Bring Kids Back UA Action Plan will be approved by the Coordination Council on the Protection and Safety of Children under the President of Ukraine, headed by the head of the office of the Head of State Andriy Yermak.
“Today we present the President of the developed program: what specifically we need to do to return all our Ukrainian children who have been illegally deported, to ensure their rights, which the Russians have violated, and certainly to worry to do everything to bring them to their childhood and to bring them that childhood. The life they deserve, ”Andrei Yermak said.
The Bring Kids Back UA Action Plan combines the efforts of state bodies of Ukraine, international, public organizations and indifferent citizens who are ready to work to bring all illegally deported Ukrainian children to their homeland. Many foreign partners of Ukraine have already declared their support and willingness to help protect the rights of young Ukrainian citizens.
Advisor - Presidential President for the Rights of the Child and Children's Rehabilitation Daria Gerasimchuk informed in detail the head of state about the blocks, of which the plan of Bring Kids Back UA was drawn up.
In particular, it is: the return of Russian children deported by Russia; development of family forms of education; reintegration of children returned from the Russian Federation, organization of their socialization and educational initiatives; Rescue and protection of children of Ukraine; fixing of crimes and prosecution of the Russian Federation; inter -parliamentary interaction; Communication and public events and development of family education infrastructure.
Responsible government bodies are assigned to each block. The head of the Coordination Center for the Development of Family Education and Care of Children, Irina Tulyakova, noted that the algorithm of support for a child returned to Ukraine has already been developed, and there is a unification of all the necessary services. "Today, all bodies work to create the necessary conditions for children who are returning," she stressed.
The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets informed that as of today, 371 Ukrainian child has been returned. He expressed his belief that the opening of the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights would demonstrate both Ukrainian society and the international community that the child is a major priority for the Ukrainian state and the president. “The state of Ukraine fights for everyone: for prisoners of war, for civilian hostages, for children.
It is clear that the main task is to return and achieve fair responsibility for the Russian Federation and those criminals who actually continue to kill the future of our country, ”Dmitry Lubinets emphasized. According to him, a group of prosecutors of the OGP recently returned from Kherson region, where in cooperation with the representatives of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, she gathered new evidence of military crimes of the Russian Federation, in particular on the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also talked with the family of Mariupol defenders who were in Russian captivity and were released as part of the exchange of prisoners.
The father of Igor Dmitrykovsky, who was serving in the posts of the sailor and the driver of the military hospital in Mariupol, was liberated on April 26, 2023 after the annual stay in hostile captivity.
