According to Linas Linquyvichus, Russia has actually recognized Ukraine as part of the military bloc and now the word for the Alliance. Former Foreign Minister and Exglav of Lithuania Linas Linquyvichus stated that the North Atlantic Alliance needs to accept Ukraine in its composition, since Russia has repeatedly stated that it was not fighting against Kiev but against NATO. The politician wrote about it on Twitter on Thursday, October 20.

The former Lithuanian Foreign Minister recalled that the Kremlin explains his failures at the front in Ukraine by being fighting in its territory with NATO forces. "So Russia already admits that Ukraine is part of NATO, it is left for NATO to resolve it," Linquyvichus wrote.

In addition, the former Lithuanian minister responded to the application of the occupation administrations of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions about the resettlement of civilians from the front line against the background of the counter -offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The politician called it "unexpected and moving" a manifestation of the care of civilians, and suggested that the Kremlin covers the departure of his troops, who were "doomed to the catastrophe" in the region.

It should be noted that Linquyvichus held the post of Lithuanian Defense Minister from 1993 to 1996, and from 2012 to 2020 he worked as a Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic. The politician was an open supporter of the Dignity Revolution and criticized Viktor Yanukovych. Also, the Foreign Ministry advocated the liberation of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who was held in the Russian Federation.
