Threats near Pokrovsk: Can the Armed Forces keep positions near Dobropillya - ISW

Meanwhile, Russian troops, moving in the area of Dobropillya, have not yet launched sufficient reinforcement to keep the tactical success achieved. An attempt to gain a foothold on new borders will be related to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with serious difficulties.

With regard to the so -called "breakthrough" of Ukrainian defense, experts say that the sabotage groups of Russians, who leaked northeast of Dobropillya - near Merzhny, Rubizhny, Free and Kucheriv Yar. These small groups find weaknesses in defense and expect more forces. After accumulating reserves, the enemy tries to attack, fix and consolidate positions.

However, according to experts, despite the fact that the promotion of Russian troops near Dobropillya was deeper and faster than in other areas of the front, their ability to turn these tactical achievements into an operational breakthrough remains unlikely.

"The impregnation of small groups is not an indicator of the establishment of control over this area by Russian troops, and such inaccurate conclusions lead to a misunderstanding of the situation in the Pokrovsky direction," analysts write with reference to Ukrainian sources. In the tactical success of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on this section of the front, Russian "troops" also doubts.

According to them, in order to give positive estimates of the breakthrough under the well -being, the troops of the Russian Federation need to create a bridgehead and strengthen the position of reserves, otherwise it is too early to speak about success. It is also noted that the promotion of the enemy in the Dobropillya area has become possible only after a few months of preparation, in particular due to the updated tactics of combined blows of drones.

In addition, the positions of defense forces actively worked front aircraft, which led to a certain isolation of the battlefield. "The use of sabotage and reconnaissance groups for tactical penetration is not a remarkable, but Russia's innovations in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles that allow them to strike Ukrainian terrestrial sites will require reactions from Ukraine and the West," experts summed up.
